So another Anime North has come and gone thanks to everyone who came and visited :). Also big thanks to my table partner :icon32channel: for feeding and driving me all weekend. This time I actually had business cards, so hopefully more of you can find me here or on tumblr XD (40percentdrawing.tumblr.com/) and hopefully all the people who came here because they took my business card thinking it was my table partners can now find him through this link >_<. I tried to make a lot of new stuff for this year but like every year there wasn't as much time as I wanted. But there's always next year and I'll have muuuuch more by then....well at least maybe those squirtles I keep saying I'll get around to >_>. Either way it was a fun con met tons of people traded art with tons of talented artist and I hope I can do that again soon.

.... maybe as soon as Otakuthon aug 5-7!(montreal) If I missed you here you can meet me there :D If there's something you wished you saw let me know too.
I'll be tabling again with :icon32channel:!

Anyway see you guys next time whenever that is!
If you're in toronto this weekend and at Anime North come drop by table E11. I'm tabling with :icon32channel: in artist ally and I have a lot of new things so come visit :D....I'd have an image in here but I don't really know how that works....maybe its only for the premium deviants D: But anyway come visit!!

Because this is now obligatory:

Thursday: *I'm not prepared for this con"
Friday:....
Sat:.....
Sunday:..... I was not prepared for that con

Sidenotes:
I let my drawing circle down again :T even after I felt I'd have so much to show after my first year of animation school. My will was weak. On the plus side it was good to see some people again and I started doing commisions to which nobody seemed to be unhappy so that was good. Barely sold prints but I had more k-pop takers this year which was nice. All in all it was pretty tame. I hope to start drawing hard core again now that I am passed this failure lol

To my few followers I may seem dead ...but in fact I am not dead. I am still breathing. This is fact
40percentdrawing.tumblr.com now exists is also a fact [link]

I have made this because I feel that people on DA prefer finished looking things and the majority of stuff I make is not finished looking so on this tumblr you can see all my regular type stuff +school stuff I'm uploading anyway. There might be double posts to here and tumblr but I'm pretty sure my tumblr will be more active than here.

So yea if you like my stuff follow my tumblr..yea!

So it's been like forever and a few days and nobody really reads these but my life's been better since second cup has loosened it's grip on me lol. Today marks the end of the first week in animation...wahoo~. It's actually pretty swell, the first time I spent 5 hours drawing a skeleton without totally hating it.. wahoo~. But in all seriousness everyone's real friendly and the instructors all have super cool careers. I mean we got jim zubkavich of the udon crew!...even if I haven't told him I'm a fan of the studio yet >_<. I think I can see some real improvement if I can keep up so I'm hopin for the best. The orientation handout did say no sleeping bags in the studio....I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be entertained or like terribly mortified. Maybe both since there's literally an army of kettles just inside the door which I can only assume is for cup noodles...mmm cup noodles. AH and I have my very own desk, I like that, it's even colourful lol. So first week was mostly saying hello except life drawing so I'm still psyched for 2nd week esp since I'll get character design and storyboarding classes~.

In other news the summer I did my first otakuthon. It was a blast. I can't say I really sold much of anything but man was it fun. Do it again in a second. Every day croissants and poutines and croissants and smoked meet sandwiches and croissants but somehow I still managed to have chinese food... twice but yea... there were croissants so it was all good. Also thanks to my table-mate Fansea I got to meet a ton of new artists all of which were real nice and seemed like fun people even if I never really got around to meeting em all. ah it really got me in the groove to get on improving some of them work oh so hard. Makes me feel ashamed that I don't try as hard even though it's not even their major >_< that's true passion right there. Too bad most of em are out of town folk so :T. BUt perhaps one day I'll see em again and if not there's probably a lot of cool people in the department...well cool but maybe not quite as pretty as some of em tho :P.

Oh yea almost forgot unexpectedly Ryusuke Hamamoto was the featured guest of the con which was like ermagerd I totally follow this guys stuff on DA lol so I was pleasantly surprised. A Real funny guy I love how the answer to question of why he draws a certain way during the panel was like always some variation of "to maximize the cuteness" lol. Real nice too he even drew me the cutest little asuka in the manga I bought from him.... tho later I found out it was in french OTL.

While not as prolific I also found out jinichu was tabling which was also great as I've been a fan of her brand of moe for a while and totally wasn't expecting an opportunity to meet her for reals so that was fun. Also the only person to appreciate my hydralisk print making her extra awesome lol.

so yea a fun end to the summer and a good start for school all is good

Btw seneca's animation community is so friendly like damn I've never been in this close/friendly of a program.

Lol so s'about time I did this here AN review..... since it's like been 4 months >_>
So basically it was same ol same ol move into the hotel just before the con starts all excited, find your table, sell pikachus, see people you know and wait for saturday, go to jack astors good stuff. The homodachi made a new doujin as always better than the year before's but on the downward trend I didn't have a single page in it and sadly watched it sell like hotcakes TT TT. On the other hand one thing of mine did sell like hotcakes this year. And of course it was the pikachu's... it's always the pikachus, it doesn't matter if you drew it years ago and it's not your best stuff cause it's pikachu. That's right I just told you secret#23423 of selling in artist alley of anime conventions PIKACHU WILL ALWAYS SELLL ALWAYS! lol. In other news in my k -everythign binging I came with a fresh set of k-pop related goodies that I like and by goodies I mean 2 eerr 1. I spent a long time drawing that IU print which I still feel good about and managed to bang out a Sulli f(x) print on friday night at the hotel lol. Unfortunately they didn't sell very much perhaps b/c most people didn't even notice them... or b/c they weren't related to big bang, shinee or dbsk buut I still sold a few and was immensely pleased to meet a couple iu and f(x) enthusiasts.... even if they all asked "hey uh I know you have Sulli but where's Amber?" lol I'm sorry I didn't actually have time OTL and Sulli is my favorite lol. Oh yea on saturday after not watching anime for centuries I was quite excited when homodachi suggested I watch YuriYuri which was honestly one of the most hilarious moments ever. Not because the show was hilarious or even very good in my opinion but because it was like it was such a stereotypical moe show and I wasn't nearly as enchanted as in my moe loving days lol. I mean I was like "lol it's been 20 minutes and I honestly think nothing has happened" I mean I don't even think any realy meaningful dialogue or anything happened I was in disbelief that I could watch like 23 minutes of actually nothing but something happening. all this backed by my drawing drawing circle who's taste in anime I didn't really ever question lol. Nothing against the show it's not terrible but it was just soo hilarious that I actually laughed hysterically for a good 5-10 minutes lol. Anyway that was fun kinda like coming back to gameboy colour graphics 10 years later remembering how u used to think it was cutting edge hi-tech stuff. After that.....the con didn't really exist for me...yea... sunday... it didn't really exist lol..

AN breakdown shorter
Friday: Check-in, sell pikachus, make prints at the hotel, eat jackastors
Saturday: man the table, wish I did the doujin, sell pikachus
Sunday: .... *I died*

Well here's to hoping I get a table next year

In other news this year I decided I'd give art an actual honest shot and am taking a full year of art fundamental at senecaYork this year. Exciting stuff the classes are fun, I feel normal doodling in class (versus not paying attention), my classmates also like art, extra life drawing. I'm excited to see how the real first week gets I'm so psyched to give this my all.. I'ma draw like a fiend. The only wierd thing is how 90% of my class mates are like yea I'm fresh outta highschool and I'm like LOL. Anyway that's what's in the loop for now.. oh other than I work at secondcup and am super tanned from almost everyday wannabe tennis... until next time... whoever actually reads these.

Well I doubt any1 really reads this but none the less I'ma write this regardless. So basically this summer was quite eventful even after AN and all that tabling goodness. For the rest of the summer I went to BC for a month to both volunteer first aid and visit an old friend. What I learned from BC is that 1am-830am shifts outside are super balls being very cold even in the summer. I also learned that Vancouver is like a prettier Toronto with more Chinese people, mountains and ocean. I also found the upper limits of my drinking abilities >_>, how satisfying it can be to eat steak with your hands and how to wash dishes in the bathtub. Some time after that I went down to Orlando where I got to be a huge HP nerd in the Harry Potter World type section the sets they created were so cool and reminiscent of the movies including a fairly exclusive hogsmeade and fake snow. Of course I had to buy tons of goodies including a house scarf (only hufflepuff of course), keychains and a chocolate frog (in which I got a huffle puff card lol). After that I got a cruise with a good chunk of extended family down to the Caribbean. The cruise visited 3 islands tho for the most part I didn't see a whole lot of since everytime we got there I ended up snorkeling or scuba diving. Scuba diving was definitely the most intense and cool thing and not nearly that scary after you get over the fact that the regulator might fall out of your mouth. Nothing quite beats looking at things 30 feet down. Other than that the cruise food was pretty decent especially their extensive lunch salad bar ( I don't think I've ever had one as good as they made it there). I also randomly learned viet Big 2 from some random chinese kids and got my butt handed to me in various sport tournaments.

Other than this tho the summer was basically uneventful and unemployed much to the dismay of my parents. The new year isn't lookin that great either since I am so lost, so unemployed and feel 1 upped by basically every kid who knows what they want and are workin to get there. I sure hope the lightning strikes me this year and I magically know or something. Hopefully art won't be that dead either get some major projects moving and maybe apply to somewhere that can help me work out of being a n00b at this business.

Well that's it for now, not dead

So this is the first year I tried to get money for my own stuff and man what a reality check it was. I clearly didn't bring it this year. Out of all the things I prepared only the pikachu doodle from yesteryear really moved. So I lost a butt load of money and definitely got a healthy ego check since I thought I really wasn't that terrible. Clearly though it takes alot more everything to be successful as the coffer does not lie. On the plus side Homodachi helped critique at least some of the mistakes in my drawing and print making skills which is definitely cool in our post Saturday breakdown of sales and plans/random chilling. Other cool things were definitely the jack astor's  brown paper art jams lol, all old school with the crayons >_< and meeting all the random artists in AA who were all surprisingly really friendly even if it was akward some times :P.  Also special thanks to my wandering buddy for making killing time not selling prints so much less depressing lol. And extra hate on the hotel we stayed at for totally charging us for full price while shorting us a bed on a reservation from yesteryear. >:(

Anyway this year was a mixed bag as honestly for a large part of it I was bored out of my mind tho enough good thing happened to sorta even the keel so, we'll see how the things go and maybe year I can comeback swinging.

.... also it was really weird how not sitting at my table got more of my stuff sold.... >_> ... that probably means something important...

oh yea... and chicken ponies, those totally made my day for serious lol.

So today I go into the local gamestop and ask "do you guys have the collectors edition on pre-order?" and guess what, there was EXACTLY 1 LEFT. Have to admit I had to think about it for a minute before throwing $100 out the window but I want the art book and extras dvd and I figure if it gets sold separately it isn't gonna be cheap anyway... So yea even though I won't be here opening day I still have that and hopefully a baller promo poster for pre-ordering.

In other news I'm gonna be gone from like next sunday to probably august 14 so my gallery is gonna be super un-busy even though I have like 0 watchers anyway ;_; ahh so much time away from my comp... oh well... I'll be back for a couple days somewhere in the middle of that huge break though.

Also... now I'm super broke man there's just too many things I want to buy atm OTL

So this year a couple weeks before the con I was perusing the isles of stuff at the labyrinth when bam, store owner offers me a job working at their booth. Thinking it will be fun I accept. Later I find out selling comics at a con is not as cool as I first thought it would..

None the less it was still pretty cool. Even though everyday was at least 10 hour shifts unpacking, stocking, selling, standing, closing shop and packing I still got to see a lot of people. Big thanks to all the people who came and visited me while I was working you guys totally made it 100% less boring to be there not to mention big thanks to sammich who was my personal money spender/supply dropper/messenger this weekend.

On sunday I totally got 1/2 hour at the very end to run around and try to buy everything in the AA this year which was mostly successful. It was kinda more fun this way honestly where I try to find and buy as much art as possible before time runs out... kinda like those bonus levels in all those platform games lol

But definitely the most fun was at the hotel lol with all the armwrestle smackdown: otaku edition, pillow armageddon 3, pandas and suprisingly baseball O.o  ... almost lol among other things.

Not to mention homodachi's very first doujin was a sell out :D even if my pages were reverse flopped and toner screwed. I hear people put down the book after seeing my pages, I'll learn to draw better next time OTL

All and all AN was still fun tho I don't think I'll be doing this work the entire con thing it kinda makes you miss everything :/ though for the first time AN was profitable and not only because the doujin made me a total of like 7 bucks XD

O yea I also got a figure this year, nice choice sam way awesome

-P.S sorry for the journal spam :P

*sad face* looks like I didn't even make it into the waiting list. So I guess that's it for me. Though like 6 people with numbers directly adjacent to mine got in. Guess I just wasn't lucky... oh well atleast I'll be in the doujin. Next year I'll have to shave the time stamp down like 15 seconds next year. It's probably a good thing though I doubt my work would get bought anyway.

In other news school is not fun next week is gonna be like the most horrible week of all weeks of school ever. Lets hope I survive -_-

Hey everyone who actually reads this ... *No resoponse*  Anywho now I'm twenty and it feels like I'm actually pretty old. Well I hope that this year I hope I can improve ... actually everything lol. Though I definitely wanna start some big projects or something hopefully I'll get around to trying my hand at a con table tho not sure anyone would buy my stuff... No matter it's a new year anything can happen maybe I'll be even to switch into a illustration program or something. Well to start I guess I'd like to know if anyone would like to do art trades or commissions or such. Note me if your interested. Anyway Happy New Year people.

Finally it is Christmas break, November was evil, all my classes wanted like 2 major things on top of the regular stuff. It was lame. But now it is Christmas break and all is well. I seem to have gotten an A in my Drawing elective. I'll post up some pictures of my assignments if anyone's interested. In other news I hope to get a lot of drawing and colouring done in the next week or so but iunno if that'll go as planned. Lately I haven't been to happy with the stuff I'm producing esp drawing guys -_- or backgrounds -_-. If only there was a way at skipping the sucking at things to the decent and improving stage. Oh and I also entered ANN's contest for the holiday banner but mine lost, no surprise but it woulda been nice to get $500 worth of DVDs. Oh well next time. I'm open to art trades and requests if I like em if any1s interested. Anyway that's all for now.

Added a bunch of stuff decided not to put things in scraps even if they really are scraps. I'm trying to put more effort into trying new things in my sketches but it's hard I get discouraged too fast when I don't know whats going on. And recently a tablet found it's way into my house so playing with that should be fun. Anyway thanks to anyone who stops by, advice would be much appreciated too many people say "that's nice" and leave it as that. It's like ARRRRGH it's okay to say you don't like it too. Thats all.

Well now it is 2nd year and it is 7 months after I first made an account here. It's not that I haven't been drawing or online it's just I didn't pull my all in one printer out to scan anything. On the up side I've been doodling and filling sketchbooks with stuff daily now. On the downside I'm not really improving possibly b/c I don't do enough skill building exercises. Though I gotta say my notes for class are begginning to look like a sketchbook lol. Whether thats a good thing is questionable. Anywho I'm still looking for advice and critiques as always so please do give me a hand.

And I also moved all my previously devinations to scraps + bunch of new stuff cause they really are just sketches.

So this is my first entry on deviant art. So right now I'm a university student and although not pursuing visual arts in school really like anime and manga. So naturally I want to be able to sketch like the pro lol and so I hope every1 here on deviant art can help me get there. Lookin forward to more journals and more devinations. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

And as my first note uhh can someone tell me how to make my scans sharper? Do I have to ink them or somthing? or can I like play around with the scanner functions? tanks in advance.
